South Island Tennis Association (SITA) Used Racquet Program
At the beginning of this year the South Island Tennis Association (SITA) initiated its Used Racquet Program.
Players in the South Island area were asked to donate adult and children’s racquets (in playable condition) that they no longer used; SITA would redistribute these racquets to people who were just beginning the sport or potential players who could not afford the equipment. By mid-May generous Greater Victoria players had donated 23 adult racquets and 14 children’s racquets, many of which were distributed to grateful beginners on May 25, 2013 at SITA’s Community Tennis Day held at Henderson Courts. Many children were delighted to be supplied with free racquets.
SITA plans to keep this program running and is very grateful to Centre Court Racquets and Courtside Sports for kindly acting as collection points for donated racquets.
