WHAT: This is a multi-match mixed doubles event. The morning session will be played in a round robin format and the afternoon will transition to a single knockout tournament. All matches will be played in a modified FAST4 format.
WHO: All club members who are turning 50 or older this calendar year
WHERE: All match-ups will be played at the Saanich Tennis Club courts on Viewmont Avenue.
COST: $10 per person, includes balls and PRIZES
What is a Fast4 Match?
FAST4 Tennis provides a simple, exciting way of speeding up a conventional tennis match. The fundamentals of tennis remain the same, but there are four rules that ensure matches are fast, competitive, exciting and can be completed in a reasonable period of time.
1. First to 4 games wins the set
2. At 3 games all a tiebreak is played to 5 points
3. No ad scoring (same gender serves to same gender on the deuce/sudden death point)
4. Best of 3 sets wins the Match. Third set is a super tiebreak (play to 10, win by 2).
