July News: A thank you to our volunteers, Bill Davison Tournament

We hope many of you are in the Club Tournament, if not please come out to enjoy some good tennis and your fellow club members from July 12th-July 20th.  Drop-ins will be suspended during the tournament and are scheduled to resume July 22.

We have a few overdue thank-yous to send out to some fabulous volunteers. So, a big shout-out and thanks to:
  • A wonderful work crew last Saturday who cleared the parking lot, weeded, powerwashed and sanded the deck, in preparation for the tournament and the 40th celebrations: Pat and Paul Kipp, Eric Holden, Janet Martin, Terry Coulter, Larry and Judy Huff, Dan Ho and Tim Ebata.  Thanks also to Larry Huff, Dan Ho and John Chase for painting the deck.  The club looks amazing!
  • Ken Stacey and Jim Howie for fixing and maintaining the ball machine.
  • Shirley Marsh for donating the trophy shelves, and organizing and running another wonderful Davis Cup in June,
  • Rich Wanbon, Chad Brachat and Mike Nichol for initiating and running a new junior Monday drop-in.
  • Bill Code for organizing two fun Change Partners in May and June, and running the upcoming club tournament.
  • Jim Howie for doing the tournament draw.
  • Judy Huff who is chairing the 40th anniversary celebrations along with Karen Casey, Grania Litwin, Bill Code, Stella Barbon. Stay tuned for more news!
  • Cathy Nettleton for organizing and running the Thursday women’s drop-in.
  • Michael Poplawski for running the website and sending out the e-mails to all of you.
We appreciate all our volunteers so much, you make this little club great!  Please come out and enjoy the club by signing up on the website for the weekly drop-ins.  Check the newsletter online for upcoming events: Triple Knockout Mixed, and Love 50 tournaments.

Bill Davison Memorial Tournament (Mixed Doubles) August 1-4

This Mixed Doubles Triple Knockout will be played at Stadacona and Kings tennis courts in Victoria. More information is available on the Registration Form.
